ABOUT WIMEA

THE WOMEN IN MINING & ENERGY (WIME) AWARDS IS CONCEPTUALIZED TO IDENTIFY AND RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTION AND VALUE ADDITION OF WOMEN TO THE MINING AND ENERGY SECTOR. IT ALSO AIMS TO CELEBRATE THE ROLE AND ACHIEVEMENT OF WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE MINING AND ENERGY INDUSTRY AND ALSO CREATE AWARENESS ON THE IMPORTANCE AND NEED FOR THE INCLUSION OF WOMEN IN THESE INDUSTRIES.
THE PURPOSE OF THE AWARDS IS TO BRING NATIONAL RECOGNITION TO WOMEN IN THESE INDUSTRIES AND ALSO ADVOCATE FOR THEIR INCREASE IN PARTICIPATION AND LEADERSHIP IN THESE SECTORS.
BY HONOURING THESE WOMEN WE HOPE TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THE IMPORTANT ROLE AND CONTRIBUTIONS WOMEN HAVE MADE IN THESE INDUSTRIES, SHARE SUCCESS STORIES, AND ENCOURAGE MORE YOUNG WOMEN TO ENTER THESE INDUSTRIES.
FOR DECADES WOMEN HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE MINING AND ENERGY INDUSTRY OF GHANA AND WE BELIEVE ITS IMPORTANT WE HIGHLIGHT THE ROLE THAT WOMEN PLAY IN THESE INDUSTRIES AND RECOGNIZE THEIR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS.
THESE WOMEN ARE INNOVATORS THAT HAVE HAD THE COURAGE AND VISION TO REDEFINE TRADITIONAL STRUCTURES. WE BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE AND CELEBRATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF THESE WOMEN AND ALSO GENDER DIVERSITY CHAMPIONS IN THESE SECTORS.
